Beach House Design & Development recently designed and built this all-in-one fireplace and AV cabinet solution.
The owners engaged BHDD to design and build a combination fireplace and AV cabinet. However, the surrounding walls were 12″ poured in place concrete and the ceiling above contained a lawn and rooftop pool. With no way to vent the fireplace and while keeping with the modern and clean lines of the home, we centered our design around and eco-friendly fireplace by Ecosmart – a bio ethanol clean burning fireplaces that does require a chimney or a flue.
In addition, we echoed the industrial and modern feel of the home by using Macassar Ebony, Honed-Black Granite, Oil-Rubbed Bronze and a Kalmar Werkstaetten Keule Sconce by Jonathan Browning. The finished product houses over 9′ of linear burners, 60″ flatscreen TV, hidden AV cabinet, and indirect mood and task lighting.
